Recycle Those Electronics

My friends know what a fiend I am for recycling. I guess I got the compulsion from my father, and like him I never toss anything that could be reused, recycled, or composted in the garbage. The same goes with defunct gadgets and unneeded electronics.

Don’t just throw away a set of speakers you no longer want or a head unit that’s gone kaput! Here are some alternatives:

• Forums like our own are great places to meet like-minded people who might want your gear
• www.recellular.com Which will recycle unusable phones

• www.craigslist.com The “free” section is wonderful
• The Salvation Army and other thrift store operators do accept working goods

• www.mygreenelectronics.org If it’s just too busted to fix, take it to a nearby recycling center (mine’s within biking distance!)
