Mobile electronics isn’t just for cars and trucks. Think roller coasters. At the new Hard Rock Park, which opened this summer in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, four new attractions feature JL Audio systems. The park wanted sound that could rival that of a live concert, so JL Audio stepped up.
Led Zeppelin – The Ride rises 15 stories into the sky and boasts six inversions, including a 120-foot loop. It’s synchronized to Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love,” which plays through 32 component speakers per train.
The Moody Blues Nights in White Satin – The Ride is an indoor attraction choreographed to the song. The multi-sensory experience (it incorporates sights, smells and tactile techniques) relies upon JL Audio component speakers and amps for sound.
For the park’s longest roller coaster, Eagles “Life in the Fast Lane,” 2,000 watts of audio power drive a JL Audio speaker in front of each seat. The coaster simulates a runaway mine train, all set to “Life in The Fast Lane.”
In the British Invasion portion of the park, the final JL Audio equipped attraction features Mini Coopers equipped with six speakers and a 600-watt amp. The roller coaster experience has a Ferris-wheel-type structure that drops the cars into place.
So the moral of the story is you can mount your car audio speakers in just about anything powered. What’s next after roller coasters?
