What I especially like about the SUV they outfitted is that on a single, overnight charge, it has a 40-mile all-electric range, so if you have a short commute you never have to dive into the gas tank. But, you can still use the vehicle for extended trips thanks to its hybrid nature.
AFS Trinity plans to license the technology to carmakers, but if they don’t bite, the company may modify existing hybrids or manufacture its own SUVs. They’re looking for 250 mpg sedans in the future, hopefully within 3 years.
