I can’t say that I care what the editors at PM think is hot automotive stuff, but I can say that they hit the mark by giving Kenwood’s KOS-V1000 an Editor’s Choice Award at the SEMA Show. The general populace should get a kick out of the Car Portal, because it lets you add all sort of doodads to your ride, without having to change your existing system.
In case Derek Lee of Troubleshooting happens upon this post, I’m not saying that you shouldn’t change out your factory system. (Yes, Derek. Stock still sucks!) But it’s important that the average Joe can embrace some level of customization and support great manufacturers like Kenwood without fear of altering his precious factory radio.
For our list of what’s hot from SEMA, watch out for our SEMA issue, on sale in late January. You’ll see products, cars and the winners of this year’s Trifecta Finals.
