The Finals are over

We’ve finally recuperated from the tumult that is SEMA and are ready to let you know what went down. Six great cars made it out to the 2007 Finals (one of our finalists, Jeff Kane, had to bow out as his ride got in a crash a couple months ago). After careful weighing by all of our judges, including Troy Sumitomo pictured here with Finalist Wayne Watkins, the score sheets were tallied up and the following took home the prizes:

Third place went to Jason Syner, with his incredible Civic, built entirely with his own hands. If you haven’t seen recent issues of Car Audio, pick one up and check out his series of how-tos. He takes us through the build, step-by-step.

Taking second place was Chris Roberts with his center-drive xB. One of the favorites at the show, this little xB is also Chris’ daily driver! Stay tuned to the mag and the website for more shots of this granite-floored beauty.

Lastly, an oldie but a goodie took first: Carlos Machuca’s Buick Regal (you’ll remember it from our June cover). This car has won so many championships, that we knew it had to finish well. Nonetheless, Carlos was enthused to add another trophy to his collection.

We’ll have a rundown of the Finals (and of course SEMA) in our March issue. Check back for the scores and more web coverage soon.
