On April 23, dealers, musicians and everyone's favorite editors gathered in Cyprus, California to help celebrate JVC Mobile's one-year anniversary. Entertainment included rock bands performing on the Jagermeister stage and two full rows of show cars.
Solomon Daniels of trade publication Mobile Electronics judged vehicles ranging from classic low riders, Hummers, Japanese sport compacts and German luxury vehicles. They were judged on installation quality, amount of equipment or modification, how well the equipment was integrated into the vehicle and ?cool factor." Prizes included a JVC boombox and an Everio camcorder. Best of Show and Best JVC Representation received a 32-inch and 42-inch flat-panel LCDs.
First place went to Big Five Electronics in Cerritos, California. Their BMW 530 is an everyday commuter that supports 14 TVs, 4 amplifiers, three subs, four sets of components and more. Second place went to A & G Custom Motoring in Los Angeles, whose Scion tC sported 14 TVs, seven 7-inch monitors, four nine-inch monitors, two 11-inch and one 17-inch flip downs, custom seats, in addition to suede headliner and trunk and 22-inch rims. Third place went to Competition Soundworks in Artesia, California. Their Cadillac Escalade caters to their high-end demographic and shows their quality of craftsmanship and attention to detail. The winner of Best JVC Represented was Bristol Sound. Their BMW 3 series sports JVC's KD-AVX11 head unit.
For those not interested in the cars six bands entertained the guests from the Jagermeister stage. Marketing partners included Hurley, Spy Sunglasses, Adio and Red Bull.
