Unwired Technology LLC, the world’s leading supplier of wireless headphones to the mobile electronics market, announced the appointment of Joseph Damato, 42, as President and CEO effective January 2, 2007. Mr. Damato joins Unwired Technology with over 18 years of product development, marketing and business management experience in consumer electronics. As a recognized industry leader, Mr. Damato brings considerable expertise gained from his years at Bose Corporation and, most recently, Delphi Corporation, where he advanced the company’s retail-based satellite radio and GPS navigation businesses. Coinciding with Mr. Damato’s appointment, Lawrence Richenstein, Unwired Technology’s founder and former President/CEO, becomes Chairman of the Board. In his new capacity, Mr. Richenstein will advise the management team, pursue licensing avenues for the company’s award-winning WhiteFireÆ digital wireless format and support the development of Unwired’s emerging European business.

In addition to retaining his minority ownership interest in the company, Mr. Richenstein plans to pursue new entrepreneurial opportunities and will continue his professional association with the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). This year, he becomes Vice Chairman of the Mobile Electronics Division of CEA and continues as a member of the Association’s Board of Industry Leaders.
Mr. Damato’s day-to-day responsibilities include driving corporate strategy; ensuring the timely launch of product programs and advancing new business through product innovation, market development and customer-focused business relationships – especially with Unwired’s automotive partners. For this reason, he will also establish a new sales, product planning and program management office in Southeastern Michigan.
